Before discovering this DIY, I honestly cannot count the number of times we changed our footmat while growing up. And thanks to dad being a lover of new brands and innovation, we stayed on track with every new release.
With faint memories from the 90’s, the top notch decor in a home then was; a welcome mat, a rug, a 14′ television set, 4/5 sofa’s symmetrically arranged to fit the parlor, and pictures. If you did not have this standard decor set-up in your parlor in the 90’s, deep down you would know something was missing.

The words African and platter, combined together makes my mouth salivate and my tummy rumble. Although I hate map reading, or hated map reading back then in geography class, when it comes to food… I am an “A” student always. hahahaha!
Early this year, I visited an Ibibio family home and was completely blown away by their home décor. They had really cool wicker furniture, which gave their living room a certain traditional essence.
After my visit, I kept wishing I could get some hand crafted furniture for my home too. Then a friend told me I can get some in the local markets.
Our living spaces or working spaces are a reflection of who we are. If you don’t believe this, just do an assessment of your day to day activities in relation with the environment you spend most of your time and the outcome there of.
There’s a saying that whatever good thing we build ends up building us – Jim Rohn. I absolutely agree with this as it applies to almost all aspects of our lives.
