Never Knowingly Boring at TALES 2025

Afro‑Luxury Accessories That Demand to Be Seen and Felt

Meet Christiana Opalaye, founder and creative director of Never Knowingly Boring (NKB), a bold London‑based Afro‑luxury label that turns headwear into a fearless statement.

Now part of TALES 2025, NKB brings luxury with cultural depth, celebrating African heritage through hats and accessories that are “Too Intentional to Be Boring.”

Statement Pieces with a Cultural Pulse

This brand believes in accessories designed to inspire conversation. From the instantly recognisable ÀKÌKÍTÁN hat, literally meaning “endless praise” in Yoruba, to curated pieces named after lesser‑known ethnic diversity across West Africa, each design holds intentional meaning. NKB’s accessories are not just worn—they’re declared.

Christiana says she launched the brand to teach her children, especially her Nigerian daughter, about the richness of Africa’s many cultures. What started as a cultural education project evolved into an unapologetically expressive fashion brand rooted in heritage.

Melia by Jade at TALES 2025

An exclusive look at the creative force behind a brand that blends heritage fabric with soft power style, perfect for the woman who knows her worth.

Art You Can Wear

Meet Jadesola Rawa, the founder and vision behind Melia by Jade, a brand born from her love of art, motherhood, and cultural expression. Since launching in 2017, Melia by Jade has focused on translating beautiful, vintage African textiles into everyday pieces women can feel bold and beautiful in. And at TALES 2025, she brings that magic to London’s global African-style stage.

From a Promise in Dubai to a Brand of Empowerment

The story began during a vacation in Dubai: Jadesola wore an Adire robe and was asked if she could make another. That simple promise turned into a brand dedicated to fusion fashion where Adire, Batik, Tie-Dye, and Kampala are celebrated as wearable art. (Bellafricana)

“Melia means ‘feminine beauty’, and that’s what the brand is about—helping every woman see the fun, sexy, chic side of herself.” (Bellafricana)

Style with Soul and Purpose

From the beloved Ajoke Shorts to the signature Asake pants, each Melia by Jade piece is crafted to bring confidence and joy. And every fabric is sourced locally; outsourced production, branding, and tailor‑craft come straight from Nigerian hands. Jadesola is on a mission not only to create style but also to uplift her community.

Why Melia by Jade Stands Out at TALES

At TALES 2025 (The African Lifestyle Experience), Melia by Jade spotlights African fabrics as a global language of personality. The collection bridges vintage textures with modern silhouettes, featuring bold prints in kaftans, playsuits, boiler suits, and relaxed trousers that feel both expressive and inviting.

Expect to see:

  • Hand-dyed Adire and Batik brought to life in flattering cuts
  • Playful, timeless pieces that empower and uplift
  • Wearable art designed for women who walk into rooms and own their presence

Outspok’n Clothiers at TALES 2025

An intimate look into the mind behind a label that believes fashion is more than what you wear, it’s who you are.Outspok’n Clothiers at TALES 2025

The Brand Stitching Culture, Confidence & Character into Modern African Fashion

Meet Adesola Balogun, not just a designer, but a mentor, author, podcaster, and visionary. The founder of Outspok’n Clothiers isn’t here to play it safe. His work is for those who are ready to be seen.

And at TALES 2025, Outspok’n is not just showing clothes. It’s showing character. It’s about boldness without noise, culture without cliché, and tailoring that tells stories.

Born from Expression, Rooted in Purpose

Before the brand, there was a young man with a talent for making clothes that made people feel like more of themselves.

What began as a side hustle at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, making shirts and kaftans for classmates, grew into something deeper. Adesola wasn’t just dressing people. He was helping them show up in confidence, in colour, and in full identity.

“I’ve always believed that clothes can give people a better image of themselves,” he shares.
“Not in a fake way, but in a way that reflects who they are, and who they’re becoming.”

Outspok’n was born out of that belief. A label that invites people to wear their values, not just their style.

Tailoring That Speaks Without Shouting

Outspok’n Clothiers at TALES 2025

There’s a balance to Adesola’s designs. A quiet intensity. Clean lines meet rich African textiles. Timeless cuts are elevated by textures like aso-oke and cotton. It’s not fashion for fashion’s sake. It’s intentional. Purpose-driven. Deeply expressive.

Take a moment with any piece from the Erè-Ayọ collection, a line inspired by joy, celebration, and African pride. Or look at the Osei capsule, honouring the role and strength of African fatherhood. Then there’s Skyline, a more architectural collection that mirrors the silhouette of cityscapes, urban, tall, and structured.

These aren’t just garments. They’re statements about family, identity, faith, and showing up fully in every room.

“Our fashion doesn’t scream, but it definitely doesn’t shrink.”

The Outspok’n Philosophy: Be Loud in Presence, Not in Noise

Adesola’s personal life and leadership style echo through the brand. He’s a strong advocate of emotional intelligence in business. His team operates on intentional mentorship, weekly check-ins, and community building.

He hosts a podcast (Coffee & Beans) where he unpacks the journey of entrepreneurship. He writes books. He mentors. But through it all, fashion remains the heartbeat.

For Adesola, it’s simple: “Outspok’n is ministry. This is how I serve.”

Andrew Tabitha at TALES 2025: The Brand Blending Heritage, Identity & Effortless Style

An exclusive conversation with the mind behind one of Africa’s most understated luxury accessory brands.

From Msbeefab to a label reimagining African fashion for today. When you meet Oluwabusola Shokunbi, founder and creative director of Andrew Tabitha, you’re not just meeting a designer. You’re meeting a storyteller, someone who weaves memory, movement, and meaning into every seam.

And when Andrew Tabitha takes its place at TALES 2025, it won’t just be about fashion. It’ll be about identity, self-expression, and the powerful act of feeling like yourself, but elevated.

From Msbeefab to Modern Elegance

Before Andrew Tabitha, there was Msbeefab, a womenswear brand that marked the beginning of Oluwabusola’s creative journey. What started as a love for fabrics and how they move with the body evolved into something bolder: a fashion label that honours heritage while embracing the now.

Today, Andrew Tabitha has grown into a gender-inclusive fashion brand, rooted in African craftsmanship and forward-thinking design.

“It’s about clothes that allow people to express themselves,” Busola shares, “without losing who they are.”

That’s the soul of Andrew Tabitha: not just dressing bodies, but dressing stories, especially for those navigating identity in new places.

Andrew Tabitha Andrew Tabitha

Style That Balances Structure and Soul

One of the most striking things about the brand is how it manages to balance clean lines with emotional depth. There’s nothing overworked or forced. The silhouettes are sleek, but the intention behind them is soft, personal, even.

Busola puts it best:

“I’m inspired by people — especially those living in new places and still trying to stay connected to their roots. That tension between blending in and standing out really speaks to me.”

This idea shows up in every piece. The designs honour traditional African fabrics like Aso-oke, known for its rich cultural significance but they’re reworked in ways that feel modern, wearable, and quietly confident.

The Patchwork Aso-oke Jacket: A Modern Classic

Andrew Tabitha

One of the most talked-about pieces from the current collection is the patchwork Aso-oke jacket, a stunning example of tradition meeting intention. It blends multiple textures and colours of Aso-oke in a silhouette that feels both bold and easygoing.

“I love how it brings tradition into something fresh and approachable, It’s bold, but not loud. It still feels like you, just with a little more presence.”

And that’s what Andrew Tabitha does so well: designs that whisper but don’t disappear. Pieces that command attention without screaming for it.

Effortless, Intentional, and Rooted in Culture

Andrew Tabitha

Everything about this brand is thoughtful, from fabric choices to how the clothes fall on the body. There’s a love for texture, structure, and understated flair, the kind that makes you feel good without having to try too hard.

It’s fashion that feels special but is still easy to wear. The kind of style that speaks for you, even when you say nothing at all.

If you’ve been anywhere near the creative scene lately, whether it’s African fashion, art, beauty, or culture, chances are you’ve heard whispers, conversations, or outright declarations about TALES 2025. And if you haven’t? Consider this your official invitation to something remarkable.

Because this isn’t just another pop-up. This is The African Lifestyle Experience, a 10-day cultural takeover happening in the heart of London’s West End, from July 25th to August 3rd, 2025. And trust me, this isn’t something you casually scroll past.

This isn’t just another pop-up. This is The African Lifestyle Experience, a 10-day celebration happening right in the heart of London’s West End from July 25 to August 3, 2025. And trust me, it’s not something you want to scroll past.

So, what is TALES?

Picture this: over 70 bold, brilliant African-owned brands, handpicked for their creativity, story, and substance, coming together in a gorgeous space at 28 Cavendish Square, London.

Now imagine walking in and seeing handcrafted jewellery, rich textiles, contemporary African fashion, luxe skincare, fine art, and soulful décor, all telling stories, all dripping in authenticity.

That’s TALES.
That’s the magic.

The pop-up world is changing, and TALES is leading it

Let’s be real. Pop-ups used to be those weekend-only, blink-and-you-miss-it events. But now? They’re cultural playgrounds. TALES is part of a global shift, one where African entrepreneurs aren’t just participating; they’re headlining.

And what’s even more beautiful? People are paying attention.

From diaspora communities to curious Londoners, from returning visitors to global media houses, there’s a growing hunger for authentic African storytelling, and TALES is serving it hot, bold, and unfiltered.

Did we mention? Spaces are almost gone

If you’re a creative, you need to know this:
As of today, most of the exhibition slots have been filled. We’re talking fashion designers flying in from Ghana, skincare brands shipping their products in from Lagos, fine artists coming from Nairobi, and wellness founders travelling from New York, all making their way to London for one big creative takeover.

The interest has been unreal. Applications are still coming in. The vibe is: if you know, you know, and if you don’t move fast, you’ll miss out.

It’s not just for brands. It’s for you, too.

Even if you’re not showcasing, TALES is for you, the lover of culture, the supporter of Black-owned businesses, the curious browser, the creative thinker, and the London explorer.

It’s FREE to attend.
All you have to do is register (yes, it’s that simple).
And once you’re in? Get ready for:

  • Fireside chats with amazing founders
  • Multi-sensory installations
  • Products you’ll fall in love with
  • And that feeling of “this is exactly where I need to be”

You’re officially invited!

Here’s everything you need to know:

Dates: July 25 – August 3, 2025
