As we grow, most people tend to want to look in a certain way and shed extra weight. Hence searching for weight loss routines, meals, drinks etc.
While I’m not about to bore you with a lecture of the harmful and beneficial effects of cholesterol. You also need to know that it is found in most of our core traditional African meals.
I remember hearing the word ‘hyacinth’ linked with sea weeds often back then in high school. I honestly never imagined it a lifestyle trend, or household item. Mostly imagined it as a drug at times in the nearest future.
I was wrong.
Depression is a term which has risen to its peak in the last two years, most especially within the African continent. Like a virus without cure, it has spread like wild fire and unfortunately seems to be misleading, torturing and shortening a lot of lives.
Allow me tell you a short story…
1 TAKE CARE OF YOUR BONES
Half of all women will break a bone because of a weakened skeleton caused by osteoporosis.
A vitamin D supplement helps promote calcium absorption and bone health.
Weight-bearing exercises such as working out three times a week with light weights can strengthen bones too.
2 DEAL WITH STRESS
Stress contributes to every disease, directly or indirectly. It shrinks the brain and increases the waistline.
So find a way to deal with it. The best option is to try meditation.
However even a few minutes of relaxed deep breathing several times a day can be a big help.
