Princess Adeyinka Tekenah is the founder of Happy Coffee Nigeria. A brand that offers an array of coffees, teas and chocolate drinks in customized mixes and flavors, Nigerian style. Using Nigerian grown coffee, the Happy Coffee mobile cafe is set to reshape the ideologies, misconceptions and opportunities linked with coffee drinking.
Happy Coffee features a combination of fresh brew coffee drinking mobile outlet/store with a bookstore/library. Our business will introduce an eclectic line of coffee blends created and customized for the customers.
The idea to begin the Happy Coffee brand was conceived in her 3rd year in the University. Princess Yinka’s research papers were based on Starbucks. The brand and their growth spurred her idea.
She fully developed her mobile cafe concept during the 3-month of the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme training in 2015. During her research, she found that the Nigerian coffee farms had dwindled due to a severe lack of incentives for the farmers.
Much like many other agricultural crops, it suffered almost to the point of no-return. Yet, in the Mambilla Plateau of Taraba lies black gold; Coffee.
With a mission to re-educate the average Nigerian about the art of coffee drinking, and a goal to revive the coffee industry in the agricultural sector by patronizing the Nigerian coffee farmers, Happy Coffee thrives by engaging one coffee drinker at a time.
A first of its kind with massive potentials to boost Nigeria’s participation in the coffee global market.
If you have ever met Princess Adeyinka, you will notice that you can almost feel the burst of energy expected from drinking a cup of coffee. She is very friendly and jovial, and she has a way of expressing her personality with a kind of joy that is almost always contagious.
Adeyinka is a Bachelor of Arts graduate with high honors from the prestigious Harold Washington University, Chicago. She also went ahead to acquire a Business Management degree from the University of Phoenix.
Her career has traversed government, charity and business development. A life member of the Phi Theta Kappa honors roll call and Dean list, she serves as an advisory member of “Apple of All Nations Nigeria and UK” (a charity for the needy and fatherless).
Princess Adeyinka defines success as creating a platform where we can all win together. She believes strongly in the power of collaboration, and I totally agree with her that, with collaboration we can go farther.
