Bellafricana.com, an online platform that empowers, supports and connects quality creatives to their global consumers, strives to enhance non-oil export in the Nigerian Economy with the support of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Olusegun Awolowo.
The overarching aim is to bridge the gap between producers of locally made products and their consumers locally and globally, thereby enhancing the zero oil movement.
In line with the dream of the present and future government, Bellafricana is grooming a community of quality indigenous creative businesses with exportable products which have the potential of increasing the economy’s export earnings by multiple folds.
Exports are the accelerator for overall development and increase in revenue to Nigeria. According to the business news in Guardian “For the nation to fast track the development of the non-oil sector for improved revenue generation, not less than 20 Nigerian goods are needed to be exported to the United States by the year 2020”
Recent evidence shows that the current government is no longer paying lip service to the need for diversification through non-oil exports. They are now taking action.
The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) made great impact a couple of weeks back when they supported one of the members of Bellafricana – O’eclat Designs nominated in the Independent Handbag Awards, a global event that celebrates creativity with a focus on handbags.

The Annual Independent Handbag Designer Awards™ is the brainchild of handbag designer turned curator, Emily Blumenthal and it held on the 14th of June at the School of Visual Arts Theatre in New York City, USA.
O’Eclat Designs (pronounced O-eyklah), is a Nigerian fashion accessories brand whose quality and durability has been verified by Bellafricana.
Birthed by Gbemmy Johnson in 2010, O’Eclat locally produces beautifully handcrafted pieces with a special focus on but not limited to handbags using leather, rich African prints and indigenous hand-woven fabric mixed with a contemporary edge.
The Nigerian Export Promotion Council, trusting the credibility of O’Eclats Designs sponsored her travel bills through Bellafricana.
The Government is paying attention and we are grateful for the on-going support and partnership of Mr Olusegun Awolowo, CEO of NEPC and we are also proud of O’eclat and other Nigerian creatives that refuse to relent in their efforts in producing quality exportable products.
Whilst Bellafricana can give you all the leverage you need to go global, we cannot do that or verify your business if the quality of your product is questionable.
