Reimagine and Re- Source 2025

TALES by Bellafricana 20 25 5

The Grand Opening

In the heart of London, on the 25th of July 2025, TALES by Bellafricana 2025 unfolded into something far more than a marketplace, it was a living, breathing showcase of African Lifestyle.

From the moment our host, Bukky Asehinde, opened the doors with her heartfelt speech, the tone was set. She reminded us why TALES exists, which of course you know:  To celebrate African creativity, culture, and community on a global stage. And London showed up!

We had curious passersby walk in and turn into happy shoppers. People wandered in and left with stunning finds, meaningful conversations, and that unmistakable TALES energy.

TALES by Bellafricana 2025 -98

We had a beautiful moment welcoming our strategic partner, New West End Company. Their unwavering support made so much of this possible. Moving on, we were honoured to present them with a well-deserved award in gratitude as a Thank you for believing in our vision.

We also had a special meet-and-greet with Bidemi Olujimi, which added even more warmth and brilliance to the day.

Shopping Experience of Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle, Food and Art

The  entire 10-day shopping experience at TALES by Bellafricana 2025 was pure joy. Over 70 brands came together, each bringing something uniquely beautiful from Africa. There were handwoven fabrics like aso oke, soft silks, flowing bubu and other vibrant Ankara fabrics.

TALES by Bellafricana 20 25 4

TALES by Bellafricana 20 25 -45

We had a showcase of different accessories, some of which were handmade, beaded bags, stunning neck pieces, neckties, pocket squares, cufflinks, scarfs, each piece carefully made and full of character.

TALES by Bellafricana 2025 -108

The food section was alive with flavour.  We had food brands which blessed our attendees tastebuds with African-inspired sweet and savoury treats, there was also plantain-inspired handmade pasta, and Dodo – a plantain-infused rum that became an instant favourite.

TALES by Bellafricana 20 25 11

Tables were filled with a spicy blend of African ingredients, perfect for a bold jollof and more African dishes.

TALES by Bellafricana 20 25 - 28

People came to shop but stayed to explore. They touched, tasted, and connected. Every corner felt alive, you could just tell.

Fireside Chat: Rethinking Visual Identity in Nollywood & Beyond

Our Fireside Chat was much more than a conversation, it was a deep, unapologetic dive into the question of how Nollywood and African cinema can hold on to its visual identity in a rapidly globalizing world. We had four speakers namely; Folasade Dorcas Adu, Bola Stephen-Atitebi, Claire Idera, Akah Nnani and Our wonderful Moderator Foladele Falana-Ngadi.

Fireside chat 2025

Each speaker brought a unique perspective, unpacking how our African heritage can be woven into costumes, props, set designs, scripts, and cinematography without losing modern appeal.

They explored the pitfalls of Western-influenced storytelling, the danger of clichés, and the beauty of grounded authenticity and spoke with passion about preserving the soul of African storytelling ensuring that our language, traditions, and cultural aesthetics are not diluted for mass appeal but celebrated as strengths.

TALES by Bellafricana 2025 -78

Their insights were bold, with thought-provoking  perspectives. By the end, the room was alive with the shared understanding that our stories deserve authenticity not compromise.

Reclaim, Sip and Paint

OMG. Where do we even start? This was pure magic.

Created and hosted by one of our own brilliant creatives, Bukola Adenuga. Reclaim, Sip & Paint was all about giving old items a brand-new life.

TALES by Bellafricana 20 25 -61

The idea was simple but genius. Attendees brought in old handbags, clothes, or accessories from home.  Where with paintbrush in hand, they get to turned them into one-of-a-kind, reusable art pieces.

Some people created bold, vibrant patterns. Others painted delicate details that made their items look like they had always been works of art.

RISHI by Ailakoko

There was laughter, creativity, and so much joy in the room,  proof that sustainability can be deeply personal and wildly creative. But it was also resistance to waste. A celebration of reusing instead of replacing, and proof that sustainability doesn’t have to be boring or difficult.

It was something more than a workshop. Our attendees went home with fun memories, one to be remembered for a long time.

Five Senses of Africa Show

Like the name promised, this day was an explosion for every sense: sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell each one drenched in African creativity.

We had the incredible Bola Stephen as Adunni Alaalo, stirring the room with rich African folktales.  African stories that pulled us into a trance, as though we were sitting under a moonlit sky back home, listening to the elders speak about African moonlight stories.

Kemi sulola

Afterwards, Kemi Sulola took over the stage to give us some real music performance with her voice like warm honey, smooth and breathtaking. It was a homecoming.

The fashion was on another level that day. Statement pieces, bold designs, and cultural clothes that made you feel like royalty walking down Oxford Street. The brands came ready to impress and sure they did.

TALES- Africa food 2025 -63

And then came the food.  Oh, the food. We’re talking plantain-infused pasta so silky and flavour-packed it felt like a love letter to your taste buds.

Dodo-infused rum that was smooth yet spicy, with that sweet plantain flavor dancing at the back of your throat after you’ve down a glass. There were also sweet, buttery chin chin with a crisp bite, spiced peanuts. The treats were so good that attendees couldn’t help but indulge, with each person coming back for more taste.

TDP Home -72

Besides fashion and food, we also had African-inspired lifestyle products. Home fragrance products from TDP Homes elegant, earthy, and full of texture reminding us that the African touch belongs in every space we live in.

By the time the day wrapped, the crowd was buzzing. It was nostalgic.

Karaoke and Closing Celebrations

If we could’ve bottled the energy of our closing celebration, London would still be buzzing. Honestly, it felt like TALES by Bellafricana 2025 shouldn’t end,  like Oxford Street should just keep on soaking in African creativity forever.

TALES 20 25 -58

That day, Aug 3rd was another glorious show-off of African fashion and lifestyle. Our brands came back with fresh looks, bold statements, and more stories woven into every fabric and design. You could feel the pride in every stitch, every bead, every colour.

TALES -31

And then… karaoke happened. You know how it goes,  the running up to the mic, the off-key notes we all cheer for anyway, the dancing, the pure joy spilling out of every corner. It was a community in its loudest, happiest and purest form.

TALES - 27

To wrap it all up, we turned the spotlight on the people who’ve walked this journey with us from day one.

Presented awards to our partners, our pioneers, and creatives who have carried the TALES by Bellafricana vision with us since inception. Our way of telling them “We see you and we honour you”

It might have seemed like any other grand finale out there; but truly it was a promise that TALES is still growing, still thriving, and still here to tell African stories on the grandest stage possible.

A Heartfelt Thank You

The TALES by Bellafricana Team is saying a Heartfelt thank you to all our incredible strategic and media partners who carried TALES 2025 far beyond Oxford Street. Seraban GH at TALES 2025

Celebrating Modern African Style through Colour, Craft & Confidence

Meet Serwaa Abankwa, the creative director behind Seraban GH, a unisex clothing brand born from childhood days selling wax fabrics with her grandmother. Over a journey that began in 2009 and became officially registered in 2017, Serwaa transformed that early love into a label known for timeless, high-quality African fashion with global appeal.

A Legacy of Prints, Purpose, and Pride

For Serwaa, Seraban isn’t just about clothes; it’s the next chapter in a story rooted in weaving, family, and culture. Inspired by the vibrant colours and prints around her, her brand blends African wax fabrics with contemporary silhouettes to create daily wear that feels expressive and elevated. This is fashion with soul, born in Ghana and made for the world.

Collections That Speak with Style and Substance

Seraban’s designs are a masterclass in balance, playful yet polished, and bold yet wearable. Take their Balance Collection, launched in September 2024. It celebrates versatility through tailored two-piece ensembles, mix-and-match patterns, and structured pieces meant to fit confidently and feel comfortable wherever you go.

Then there’s the Reverie Collection, introduced in December 2023. Each piece narrates a story of women’s strength, honoring caregivers, leaders, and individuals thriving in their authenticity. The collection combines refined style with powerful meaning in every sewn seam.

Across seasons, Seraban builds on Ghana’s textile heritage with designs that amplify identity over trend—offering wearers both confidence and cultural connection.

Why Seraban Belongs at TALES 2025

Seraban GH is more than fashion, it’s an experience. At TALES 2025 (The African Lifestyle Experience) in London, Serwaa brings her brand on a global platform that aligns perfectly with her values: craft, colour, identity, and storytelling.
