I don’t know if you have been following, but this is the third publication on “The Verified Tribe” featuring the beautiful Temitayo Adebowale. Founder of R1Sixteen, a very extraordinary T-shirt brand that creates Tees with a message! I personally love what they represent and her designs are extremely cool!
R1Sixteen stands for Roman 1 : 16 from the bible, which says “for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ”.
It is a company with a passion for creating cool, quality graphic tees with messages that Speak Life to people everywhere. They donate part of their profits to orphanages and this is what really drives our passion, it gives us the opportunity to share the message of the gospel to the children in a love language they understand. R1Sixteen was created out of Temitayo’s interest for art and design from childhood, the life she felt after reading scripture, the satisfaction of sharing it with others and observing how it impacts them positively and the need for a more flexible work schedule.
Although the defining moment was when she made some design mock ups and sent it out to family and friends for feedback. She began to have people whom she didn’t even know, ask when they could purchase the tees and even started sharing their favorite scripture and design ideas.
A combination of bible verses, art, humanity and being able to talk about faith, business, fashion, and family in such a fun and engaging manner is exactly what sets this company apart from the rest.
Temitayo believes that , you may encounter situations you might not have envisioned with your Plans A, B and C but it’s in these situations that you create a plan D that you never thought about, it enriches you. Don’t be afraid, make mistakes and learn from them.
